Italy
Pizza, pasta, frutti di mare, prosciutto – everyone knows and loves Italian cuisine. But Italy is not only a culinary delicacy, sailing around the Apennine Peninsula and its offshore islands is also highly recommended. The world-famous “boot” is bordered by the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian in the west, the Adriatic Sea in the east and the Ionian Sea in the southeast. Mild, Mediterranean climate and thermal winds provide optimal conditions (almost) all year round, so there is a suitable area for every taste.
Many marinas are only a short day’s distance apart, making Italy an ideal destination for families and short trips. Another advantage is the relatively short and comfortable journey to our neighbours.
Calabria
Italy’s shoe tip scores not only with a lot of sunshine and warm temperatures, but has now also a really good infrastructure with numerous yacht charters and harbours. An ideal spot also for beginners, as wind and water are usually very calm and strong winds are relatively rare. Be careful with the partly dangerous rocks.
